Buckles wandered down to the docks. She had finnished selling for the day and was looking for a quiet place to read. Her deep blue eyes scanned the area for a corner away from all the other boys down there. Finaly she spotted it tucked away in the corner, with just enough sunlight to be able to read. The wind blew her curls around her face as she walked over to the corner and she tucked her curls behind her ears before sitting down and opening her book.

Where'd ya snitch dat book? Spot said as he walked over to where she was. He threw his hat to the ground and let the hot sun warm him. His eyes watched the book carefully. The words he could see were too advanced for his reading ability, and he gave up. He scanned the horizon for any others coming, wondering if he had other ears. I was thinkin' de odduh day, are we still wit Manhattan and Jacky-boi and all? We're far apart. We're not usually togedduh. Now we're...sorta, allies. But I dunno if I want it dat way. He glanced behind him. No spies, right? Dats it. Whadda you think?
((OOC: It's ok you picked your borough, lets just say no one else can, to keep the swelling of one down, kay? Thanks!!))

((OOC: sorry I didn't realise I was choosing Brooklyn as my borough))
Buckles looked up to see who was blocking her sunlight and gave a friendly smile when she saw Spot "I didn't steal it, I brought it over with me when I moved here from Scotland" After listening to what Spot had to say, she looked out at the horizon thinking for a moment "Well" she paused "I spose its betta to keep allies close, even if ya never need them" she paused trying to think of a good example to back up her point "like say dat some time in the future ya need help against anudder borough, isn't it betta to have Hattan on your side than against you" Thinking about what she just said she smiled and turned to him "sorry, I don't think I'm being much of a help"

Nah, nah. I'm just havin' some troublin' worries bout the Hattin's. Traitors. Dey started de strike, and dey think dey're so importan. But Brooklyn has always been Brooklyn. We ain't need any titles, like 'Begins Strike.' Brooklyn has always been just as it is by self. Notin' holdin' us up but us. He knew that made little sense. Bucks, how is the Scotts? Ain't much diff'rent from here, I say? Or much? Scottland...hmm. When came to mind was desert. He looked over at her, thinking. Scottland was so far away. He looked out at the water, squinting, as if he could //possibly// see Scottland from here. Nope. Can you speak some Scott still? An where'd'cha get yer New Yark speakin' from? Ain't the Scotts...Scotts? Not Yawkas?

Buckles thought about what Spot said for a moment "I spose you're right, I'm not too good at all this political sorta stuff" By the mentioned Scotland she smiled "Scotland" she paused "I grew up in the countryside on a farm, so I spose its different from here, I neva got to see the city that much" she paused "and as far as the accent goes, I dun think it's that New York, I just pick up on accents quickly, I mean I was 11 when I got here, and I didn't have no one else around with a Scottish accent so it just kinda died a bit" She looked over at him "You always lived here I spose"

Eva since I was born. Can't dream of it any odduh way. He sat down next to her, his feet were tired from running, selling the papers was hard work, no? He chewed his lip a second. I've got Jacky-boi comin' to meet me by the Meeting Place, we gotta talk. I dunno bout him. I'm gonna let him decide what he wants to do. I know what I wanna do. His tone showed he was not as sure as he sounded.

She looked out over the water, playing with the dirt under her nails listening carefuly to what he had to say "You sound like you don't like the uncertainty of whats happening right now" she looked over to him searching for an answer in his expression before she continued "now call me oblivious, but when did this whole thing between the boroughs start? I haven't really noticed it, although I do try to stay outta the affairs of leaders"
((OOC sorry about my late reply I've been boged down with year 12 right now))

((Quite ok! Me too, I was on vacation for a week...sorry.))
I don't like not knowin' what's goin' on. Dat's not like me. You know dat. He too took a turn to stare out at the water, dark and colorless. His eyes echoed that shade of blue. A little dizzy, too, he wasn't used to the feeling of uncertainty. Oblivious...well, if you were new here I'd call ya dat. But since ya already have a nickname, I guess I'm outta checkers. ((Sorry for the bad simile, I love it though)) Well, uh, we're all so far away from eachodduh dat we all just kinda turned inta groups of ourselves, ya know? Da boroughs. And, during the strike we all ganged togedduh to help out. But now I'm not so sure if I wanna be togedduh. I'm happy right heah by myself...right heah wit us Brooklyns.

"But are the other boroughs botherin' you about staying away or is there a fear that they will in the future?" she started playing with the fraying hem on her cuff. "Because if they arn't botherin' you, wouldn't it just be easier to keep the calm" she looked over at him questioning him.
((sorry about the late reply yet again, we went away for 8 days and I had no internet to tell anyone))

"allies is a great place to stand" she looked around the docks trying to think of a good example "like" she paused "like take England and Russia for example they are allies, but they didn't agree on the Russo-Japanese war....England was also involved with Japan" she paused "Papa loved current events" she said explaining her knowlege of completley irrelevent events "I guess what I'm trying to say is" she paused "being allies is great, you don't have to like them, you don't have to associate with them, all you have to do is be there for them, and not fight with them"
((I don't think that made much sense, I had this really great thing planned with WWI but then I realised that was a few years into the future so out came the Russo-Japanese war, and I don't think I got all the facts right))
